“Ugh, I think there’s dairy in these eggs. I told them I’m allergic. WTF. My face is going to start turning red. Plus, we’re going out in a few hours. The photos. I don’t want to look like a tomato on Instagram. I’ll puff up like a balloon. I’ll….”
I catch myself. The last couple weeks in London and Montenegro have been amazing. The people, the food, the hotels. Everything. We’re making lifetime memories. Getting mildly poisoned is no way to start the day. But, I’m not going to let a little butter take this day away from me.
I know why I do it. I’ve worked as a TV hostess and model for years. You’re trained to focus on your looks. You don’t want to look bad in photos that can live on the internet forever. But, I’ve learned (and am still learning) to take it easy. This trip, we’ve had breads, desserts, cocktails. I’m happy being squishy. Life isn’t a snapshot on the internet. It’s the relationships and experiences.
We’ve had an abundance of those since we left home.

We were in Montenegro for the opening of the Maestral Resort & Casino. And, the grand opening was just that. The musical acts were surprisingly awesome. (Ever met the Bono of Montenegro? ) There was a floating lady. Lion dances. Dragons. The night finished with a fireworks display that rivaled New Years in Las Vegas. It was outstanding.
Check out this hotel. That’s right. The whole island is Aman Sveti Stefan. My husband and I were lucky enough to stay here for nearly a week. The food was amazingly fresh, we had our own private beach, and the staff was impeccable. And, I don’t know how they do it; but, they arranged the most beautiful sunsets on a daily basis.
And that was just Act 1. Our group headed to London next. There, we were treated to incredible meals, kickass shows, and (maybe a few too many) fun cocktail bars.
But, it’s not the American Bar at Savoy that I’ll remember. It’s being with Christal at the American Bar. It’s not the lamb at Aquavit; it’s everyone trying Scandinavian cocktails before sprinting out to catch Hamlet (To be or not to be….four hours long? To be). In other words, the people make the experiences. The highlights of my trip are never just me. They are with the stunning souls that I’m lucky to know.
Christal and I call each other “wifey.” With our boys working, we’re in our own relationship. She’s been there since the beginning of Keith and I. We lived together in Macau. She was my bridesmaid. We’re still making special memories to this day. I’m grateful to call her my best friend. She’s helping me come out of my shell, encouraging me to put myself out there. She’s an inspiration, not just for me, but to thousands of women. Check her out here: The Ladies Coach and here: How To Be HOT: Your Guide to Becoming Happy, Open and Trusting in Your Relationships
Me and wifey met up with one of her long time followers in London. Maddi Gill is a ball of sunshine. It’s like light emanates from her face. She’s a doll and a sweetheart. She’s also the kick in the pants I needed to write this post. She had seen me on Christal’s social media and said I was so helpful. While simple, hearing that really moved me. It made the abstract a reality. She was no longer a screen name, an @ symbol, or a thumbnail. She was a real person telling me that me talking about passions; beauty, health, and fitness; was an inspiration. I’m so thankful to have met her.
And, that’s why I’m here. I want to help. Sure, I’m not perfect. I’m a little insecure in photos despite modeling since the age of 10. I start to curse under my breath at the chef who put milk in my eggs. But, I’m growing. I struggled with skin issues most of my life. Scars, eczema, rosacea, blemishes. I’ve seen it all; and, unfortunately, most of it was my own doing. After battling these symptoms, I’m decently knowledgeable about skin care and beauty. I want to share that knowledge. So, let me know what’s on your mind. What can I help with? Life is all about relationships and ours starts now.
